THE DEVORE DANCE CENTER IS THE HOME OF A CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAM STRESSING PERFORMANCE ARTS, ACADEMICS AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. WE ARE DEDICATED TO BUILDING CHARACTER AND ENHANCING THE CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF OUR STUDENTS. THROUGH THE PROGRAMS OFFERED AT DEVORE, WE EXPAND, CULTIVATE AND EDUCATE OUR YOUTH. IT IS OUR GOAL TO REAWAKEN THEIR SENSE OF COMMUNITY THROUGH THE ARTS. WE ARE DEDICATED TO SETTING FORTH OUR YOUTH IN A POSITIVE DIRECTION.
HER VISION
Carolyn DeVore, Founder/Artistic Director of the DeVore Dance Center, was born and raised in St. Alban's Queens. Circa 1990, she had a vision to reach young people through the art of dance.
Ms. DeVore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Dance and Secondary Education from Brooklyn College and a Master Degree in Special Education from Adelphi University. Ms. DeVore attended the Bernice Johnson Cultural Arts Center, where she studied with distinguished dancers and choreographers – Micheal Peters, Ben Vereen, Arthur Mitchell, and Bernice Johnson herself.
Through its 29 years, DeVore Dance Center has attracted thousands of dancers from throughout New York. Students have enjoyed the opportunity to learn directly from Ms. DeVore and to experience dance on a higher level.

Ms. DeVore employs an extremely creative team of dancers, drummers, and administrative staff. Ms. DeVore's patience, and discipline led her team and students to a brand new dance studio in 2007.
